Canadian Supermodel Stacey McKenzie Brings Award Winning Modeling Workshops To Calgary

CALGARY, AB – On October 17 and 18, 2013, Canadian supermodel Stacey McKenzie will inspire, empower and educate a select group of aspiring models during the specially formulated Western Canada debut of her award winning Walk This Way Workshops at Le Germain Calgary. Spread over two evenings, McKenzie will provide the workshops as part of the bi-monthly ACTLIKEUKN_W series developed by leading fashion website, CalgaryFashion.ca.

From ruling the runways of Paris, Milan, London, New York and Toronto to gracing the glossies of publications like Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue while appearing in high profile billboard campaigns for highly esteemed fashion powerhouses such as Calvin Klein, United Colors of Benetton and many others, McKenzie has taken the fashionable road less travelled to become a homegrown sensation.

“I’m delighted to bring my workshops to an area known for its emerging talent within the fashion industry,” says McKenzie. “My goal is to prepare these aspiring models for the challenges they will face as they pursue their dreams in the arts, fashion, entertainment industries.”

CalgaryFashion.ca editor in chief Kimberley Jev says, “We’ve been waiting patiently for the right time to release this kind of educational forum for fashion. It’s extremely monumental for our city when a supermodel of McKenzie’s rank takes notice of our city and we are beyond honored to welcome Ms. McKenzie and the Walk This Way Workshops to Calgary.”

Tickets to attend the ACTLIKEUKN_W WALK THIS WAY WORKSHOPS WITH STACEY MCKENZIE are available at http://calgaryfashion.zoobis.com. Each ticket will give access to the ACTLIKEUKN_W Walk This Way Workshops With Stacey McKenzie Workshop as well as the ACTLIKEUKN_W VIP AFTERPARTY featuring MINK PINK + SWEET SOUL BURLESQUE + BLONDTRON at The Hifi Club in Calgary, AB October 19th, 2013.

Kimberley Jev, Director of Calgary Fashion Media and leading fashion website CalgaryFashion.ca announce the launch of the Calgary Fashion Industry Awards. We kick off the first installment of the Calgary Fashion Industry Awards for 2011 with the Calgary Fashion Industry (Honorary) Awards.

As ambassadors of the industry, Calgary Fashion would like to honor and reward Calgary’s foundation of fashion professionals who have stood through the test of time with hard work and a steady dedication to their craft. We will also be hosting a unique online event that spans over the remaining days of December where our readers will get the chance to vote and reward Calgary’s up and coming members of the fashion industry today.

Up close and personal with a steady hand in the scene, Calgary Fashion has interacted for 4 solid years with the industries top boutiques, designers, bloggers, journalists and stylists as well as covered some of the hottest fashion events to date in the city. The Calgary Fashion Industry Awards  aims to celebrate the cities finest.

“Calgary is on the verge of exploding as a top city in Canada,” says Jev,  ”if we do not recognize the individuals who have put in the leg work for the up and coming, it will always seem as though we have had no real fashion in the city. The first installment of the awards, the Calgary Fashion Industry “Honorary” Awards is about recognizing the people who have maintained fashion careers in the city, honed their craft in the city and worked diligently and professionally with others locally and internationally.
