Inspired by the glamour of 30s Hollywood starlets, Brenda Low and her line BGlow presented onlookers with an array of fabrics and silhouettes to tempt our senses.

Her opening creation definitely inspired images of Veronica Lake in her long flowing chiffon robe and white corset over lace leggings waltzing across her dressing room to her vanity.

Although the collection lacked cohesiveness in fabric choice, colours and silhouettes, the garments presented were well-made and justifiably well-designed.  A few notable pieces were a deep V, black and white pin dot harem pants suit with lime green trim and sash worn over a purple tube top. A 60s style turquoise shift dress with a yellow lace apron overlay, and a black empire waist dress with a slitted, gathered skirt that opened to reveal a lime green underskirt while a leaf-embroidered sash lies neatly overtop definitely caught the eye.

The collection finished the way it started: a vintage inspired wedding gown, reminiscent of a 50s Marilyn complete with white headscarf.  The dress itself was an elaborately detailed halter style gown, with a gathered drop waist, and flowing layered skirt.

All in all, it was a fabulous way to come full circle and end the show but Low would be better served to choose a few key styles and materials and build a collection around them.
