FOR THE RECORD- “FIVE SECONDS” BY TWIN SHADOWS

Pitchfork is praising Twin Shadow’s “Confess,” where other critics are comparing Lana Del Ray and George Lewis Jr. I have only had one listen through, the 80 undertones, actually they might as well be overtone are perfection. “Five Seconds” randomly came on a playlist last weekend, and it was track back all weekend. You can’t help to think of The Lost Boys. Usually Pitchfork reviews have me spitting blood, if they don’t find it first, it’s irrelevant and I try to avoid reading them. For once they got something right. Twin Shadow’s “Confess” is a dark-moody yet still fun and upbeat album. Just like when Lana Del Ray released “Born to Die,” I  don’t give to shit if these ‘musicians’ are produced or if it’s the real deal, because I am unsure what the real deal is these days anyways. So, why so serious? Plus there is nothing like a guy that describes himself as ‘James Dean in Bollywood in the 80s.’

Also check The Dirty Projectors “Swing Lo Magellan.” After a couple weeks of dull releases, we finally got a couple bangers to listen to.
