FOR THE RECORD- YOUNG EMPIRES

It seems more and more these days that musical acts are finding each other over Craiglists. It works like online dating, stating what you are looking for and meeting with people to see if you’re the right match. This is how Matthew Vlahovich (keyboards/vocals), Jacob Palahnuk (bassist) and Robert Ellingson became Young Empires.

Before anyone even knew the name Young Empires in Canada, they were becoming a hit in the UK. Starting mainly as web based group, posting songs through social media it was a new world translating the music they created to their live shows. Taking a pastime and creating a career can be tricking, in order to even get your voice heard you need to have something to say in order to make people even want to start listening. Young Empires doesn’t fail in getting your attention.

Young Empires released the EP “Wake All My Youth” a collection of danceable yet thought provoking songs. Fresh off NXNE , Young Empire have made their way to Calgary to partake in Sled Island. This will mark the first time the band will perform in Calgary.
