FOR THE RECORD – XAPHOON JONES INTRODUCES BOB MARLEY TO MGMT

I was in Whistler two years ago over the Christmas holidays sitting at Amsterdam Pub in the village one night with a friend of mine, sipping back on some Stongbows, this track came on and stopped the conversation in it tracks. Instantly I was holding my iPhone as high as could to Shazzam it (looking like a dumb ass)…no match on the song, so I had to ask the bartender what was happening with MGMT and Bob Marley.

Xaphoon Jones makes up 50% of Chiddy Bang, a hip-hop duo from Philly. This song has been around for a while, but for the first Friday of Song of the Day, I wanted to make sure your ears are ready for Friday night.

I am sucker for a well done mash-up and you will be too after this. How could it you not? “Kids” by MGMT is one of the biggest songs in the last 5 years to be remixed, and “Is This Love?” by Bob Marley… well its Bob Marley.
