THE GREY CUP COMES TO TOWN

Shhh, don’t tell anybody, but the Grey Cup made an appearance last night at Harry Rosen in The Core; it was a pure beauty sitting there on the pedestal under the bright lights urging you to stand beside it and take a photo with it as if it were one of your favourite celebrities.

Larry Rosen, Chairman and Chief Executive Office of Harry Rosen, and Mark Cohon, Commissioner of the Canadian Football League (CFL), were present to reveal its attendance. Not only was the evening honoring football, but also fashion. An announcement was made that Cohon is to be the next face of Harry Rosen; this role is fitting as he wore a luxurious suave dark grey suit. Cohon goes into a bit more detail about his outfit: “I am wearing a Bespoke Zegna Suit tailor made… a little Pucci tie and some Gucci shoes.”

Cohon’s photo shoot for the Harry Rosen advertisement takes place next month around the Grey Cup Season. He explains his interest in the endeavor wanting to give back: “One of the things that Harry and Larry do is they make a donation as part of this to a charity of my choice and I am going to focus on getting kids playing amateur football, so that is one reason why I am doing it.”

His father George Cohon, who founded McDonald’s Canada, was also the face of Harry Rosen at one time. For most, this would be a lot of pressure having to fill the shoes of one’s father, but not for Cohon as his dad “was a great mentor” teaching him how to handle almost any situation. His wife’s involvement in fashion makes him quite familiar with the scene easing his mind even more.

Our city keeps their fingers crossed they may be able to keep this precious trophy in town like the victory back in 2008. Here is some good energy being sent out to our football team… GO STAMPS GO!
