APT 22 was the first runway show to kick off Alberta Fashion Week 2011. Kim Stern, owner and designer of APT 22, donned a black, short silk dress from her own collection. This elegant piece had a heavily embellished neckline and sleeve cuffs. She matched it with a pair of sexy black heels with red soles and a pair of sparkling chandelier earrings.
The first dress on the runway was a seductive black, floor length dress. The cut-outs at the waist and the V-shaped neckline added an extra va-va-voom to an already sexy silhouette. As more and more designs floated across the runway, one could tell this designer line for the runway read like a fashion love affair. First, one’s attention is captured by all the curvy lines and colour and then one falls in love with the fashion. The summery colours of the prints and playfulness of the floaty frocks definitely inspire a fashion romance for the summer.
Once in love, you have to take the fashions of APT 22 for a night out on the town. The nightlife wear was elegantly simple using lines and high hemlines to show off the best features of the feminine figure.
Lastly, one can’t help but take the fashions of APT 22 home with them. The runway ended off with exposing the “morning after” wear. The models sported loose, V-neck T’s with graphic photo prints and boys’ tighty whites – a fashion that works as comfort wear and still had the sexy appeal of the girl next door.
