San Francisco’s Eskmo has been around for almost a decade releasing music on Warp Records, Planet Mu and most recently  Ninja Tune. Brendan Angelides aka Eskmo plays a wide range of electronic music but tries to avoid a single classification. His music is and has been described as “sophisticated, dreamy post-Dilla hip-hop”.

With many releases under his belt, his most recent Eskmo is his first full length. The single and first track “Cloudlight” is a real standout. It creates a fabulous dream-like setting for the entire record. “We Got More” is another distinct track with a more up-tempo drum beat that really keeps the record going,

The album is very much dream like, allowing you to get lost in the sounds. Eskmo mixes together many electronic elements, taking influences from many great artists.

The final track “My Gears Are Starting To Tremble” displays more vocals, but with the same chilled-out sounds behind it bringing the album to a nice close.

Proven to be a great addition to Ninja Tune Eskmo’s sophisticated sound appeals to a wide audience. He is very unique in his construction of songs combining many various elements. The album overall is inventive, dreamy and perfect for chilling-out!
