A WINTER SURVIVAL GUIDE

It’s freezing in Calgary, literally. However, we can’t really let this stop us from boldly going where no fashionista has gone. We have to do what it takes to not only stay warm in the harsh Winter conditions but of course remain stylish while doing it.

1. INVEST IN A PAIR OF SUNGLASSES

It might be -20 out there but if there’s one thing we love about Calgary it’s the Sun always comes out to play. While driving or walking protect the eyes with a fabulous pair of glasses. We’re loving the Anthony Martin Otto glasses pictured from the Vintage Frames Company.

2. LAYER

This is the one simple rule we cannot stress enough. A pair of long johns or an extra scarf can really change your life. Think about it as a second skin. It’s a great way to not only stay warm but a great styling trick

4. WINTER BOOTS

It’s just one of those things, winter boots are vital. We agree, they can be clumpy, bulky and no matter what brand are some of the most unfashionable shoes in the shoe market. However, when outside in these conditions, keeping the feet warm is the most important. “When it gets anywhere under -15 I put on my long puffy coat and wear my Ugg boots,” says model and fashion blogger Ania B. “I keep a pair of nice shoes at work so that I can change into them in the morning. All of my suede shoes get to rest during winter, there is no way I would ever risk damaging them on the salted sidewalks!”
