Kyle Nylund F/W 2010

Kyle Nylund, having been one of the designers featured at Inn From the Cold’s event Human Touch a couple weeks before, was part of Alberta Fashion Week on the most electric night of them all, Friday, March 26th.

The crowd anticipated with eagerness to see Nylund’s line Daleio. He is known for his strong creative abilities shown through his pieces. Besides designing the outfits, Nylund also created the hats the models wore which were elaborate and elegant; this element drew even more attention.

The theme was one of the chandelier which was imprinted on dresses and skirts of various colours. One of Nylund’s signature dresses is a one shouldered white dress with the purple chandelier print on it; the bottom of this lovely design had purple crinoline to give it that bit of extra poof. Crinoline was once again used to create a tube toulee black top which was paired with a short green satin skirt with the chandelier print on it.

Another eye catching design was a long sleeved, short purple sparkling dress that glistened various colours under the spotlights; on the upper back was a big black satin bow that added a nice touch. Following with the simmering idea was an iridescent green strapless short dress which was gathered heavily on one side and was reminiscent of the rippling of water on a fresh water lake in the mountains. Absolutely breath taking!
