442 McAdam F/W 2010

Sarah Shell of 442 McAdam had an explosive debut at Alberta Fashion Week last year. It was dynamic, entertaining and chalked full of signature high-fashion bags.

It is not out of turn to say many fashionistas were waiting in anticipation to see what her models had up their sleeves this time, or should I say ON their sleeves?

And Shell did not disappoint. The line was as finessed as always but this time the designer decided to infuse more class and chic to the collection.

Rich black bases with lustrous shining gold and silver pendants gave the bags the right amount of glitz. Glossy reptilian patterns seamlessly sewn onto flower petal-shaped flaps were also a delight to see.

Although many of the purses were cute and quaint it was also nice to see bigger pieces for all the “Bag Ladies” out there.

A couple of hand bags for men made their debut in this collection, an exciting decision. However, I am sure men would also appreciate a bolder look in the bags much like the ones for their female counterparts.

If the soap opera drama being played out by the models wasn’t enough, the show was intentionally interrupted by Reggie Nicholas Tenchavez’s (House of DangerKat) who was wacking, vouging and duck-walking all over the catwalk.

The only question is; what in the world will Shell come up with next?
